The Split Pea Soup Diet

Larry drives up the coast for his first live appearance and can’t stop eating split pea soup. We wait in vain hoping to hear the Pope to say, “Nominum quid geminus?” Plus, the premiere of a new segment, “The Magic Movie Moment.”

Quote of the week: “It’s like a blimp shot.”

    Hi Larry, Dr. & Col.

Here’s a variation of the joke from this week’s podcast. This version has been cited as one of the funniest jokes ever, by Americans.

Two men are playing golf one day. As they are about to start one of the holes, a funeral procession goes by on the road beside the course. One of the golfers, Harry, takes off his cap and stands with his cap to his chest, and waits for the entire procession to go by. He then puts his cap back on and proceeds to tee off.

“Gee Harry, that was a very nice gesture on your part. It was very thoughtful and respectful of you to do that,” his friend says.

“Well,” Harry replies, “It was the least I could do, I was married to her for 30 years.

The funniest joke ever was written by Spike Milligan: Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses.
He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other
guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps,
“My friend is dead! What can I do?”. The operator says “Calm down.
I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence,
then a shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says “OK, now
    what?”

Thanks for all the great jokes & stories on the podcast. I’ve only been listening for a few months but your show makes for a great bus ride to work. (People look at you funny when you start to laugh out loud on the bus).

Final note: Do you have the same deal with Amazon.CA as with Amazon.COM? Us Canadians can only order from .CA

    Cheers,

    Ed.

It’s great to hear about your adventures on the road.

Larry, it’s not you, it’s your pants! Maybe they shrank in the hamper.

  4. Chris thought the first try when Larry hit me in the eye maybe that wasn’t an accident.

Love you Larry, but I gotta be honest here. Eating carrots isn’t THAT funny. No, seriously, it just isn’t. I chuckled briefly somewhere during the first 30 seconds of the video, and then realized that there was still another 29 minutes to go, and… wow… really? I did the fast forward by increments test, just to see if there was any actual humor occurring at any point during that 29 minutes, and… well, actually, no… there wasn’t. Not exactly Andy Kaufman. Anyway…
