The Five Levels of Drinking Redux

Larry performs one of his signature comedy routines, “The Five Levels of Drinking.” This is the first time Larry has ever done this bit NOT in front of a live audience!

He then urges caution on the rules for a proposed Larry Miller drinking game. By the way…

Later, Larry placates the stateside listeners who feel like they are not getting as much attention as overseas listeners in “exotic” locations. Also hear about normal people, lunatics and actors and how to tell the difference. (Spoiler alert — normal people and actors don’t carry parrots around.)

In Larry Miller Drinking Society news, Larry thanks the listeners for abundant suggestions for Latin mottos. Membership cards are in the works! Thanks for your patience.

Learn about the joys of swag. Larry gets free booze from the Carolla studio and a free bathrobe from Arsenio Hall and loves them both.

Quote of the week: “You call that a double!”

Huge fan of the show. Just wanted to say that I was never a big drinker before I started listening to this podcast. I’ve really taken it up a few notches in the hopes that I won’t be outdone by the rest of the members of the Larry Miller Drinking Society. Looking forward to getting my membership card. By the way, you know what would be perfect thing to give away with the membership cards for a small “donation”? A signed 8×10 of you, Larry Miller, smiling and holding a glass of scotch to be framed and put on the wall of our favorite drinking areas. And as we drink we can face your photo and raise a glass in your honor. Huzzah!!!

Steven, If you want to take it up a few more notches read some Bukowski and report back.

Cant wait for the drinking society! What about having an inaugural celebration here in So Cal where we could get our cards at a bar and all have a drink together? Get the card signed by you there and all that cool stuff?

Keep up the great work with the show!

I’m all for that! We should find a good place in Los Angeles, perhaps in the Culver City area, or in the South Bay. I’d love to have Larry sign the cards! Perhaps have a live podcast show of it as well.

I’ve been a huge fan ever since seeing your act at the just for laughs comedy festival. Not a drinker myself but I’d happily become the official Larry Miller Drinking Society Designated Driver. Anyone who can give me a no vomit guarantee gets a ride.

Love this show, thanks for years of laughs.

Love the show…..wish you would do it 5 days a week. You make me laugh especially when you mention King of Prussia PA. I live in Wayne, PA , a 1/2 mile from King of Prussia. Keep up the good work!

First time I laughed my ass off to a Mr. Miller movie was “Best in Show.” Specifically, it was the scene where he explained that a ‘jumper’ had just leapt from a high-rise and her inner organs sprang forth as if they were ‘spring-loaded’.

great show as always. thanx to Larry for mentioning our drinking game that revolves around ‘by the way’. sadly, as he mentioned it, he said ‘by the way’ 212 times and my liver exploded in my effort to keep up.
looking forward to the LMDS cards

I used to be in a “drinking” club in college and our motto was “nunc est bibendum” – “Now is the time for Drinking” we also had a crest with a fish on one side and a wolf on the other. The shield had a stylized yellow ribbon with bubbles with a beer glass sitting on top.

Feel free to use any part or all if you like it.

I’ve been mostly sober since 2002, but listening to Larry makes me thirsty. Reeaaaally thirsty.

Love the show Larry. Forget the lampshade on the head idea and design a crest.

Great show, love it. (from the drinking society far away up in Seattle.)

Definitely must get the id cards when they come out, may I suggest you have 5 levels of cards? same badge/shield/logo perhaps but with a number on it showing the “level” we are at :)

Did not find my earlier post,
In response to Latin Moto, ‘Per Bourban Vis’ which means ‘Through Bourban, Strength’.

I used to own an ‘Arsenio’ bathrobe. Larry is right, that is the best piece of swag ever. I reluctantly tossed mine a few years back after years of daily wear. I’ve yet to find a decent replacement.

    Hey Larry, you’re funny… laugh-till-the-beer-comes-out-your-nose-funny.

How about a slight name change of your oenophilic group to “Larry’s Drinking Society”. That way
your gang can say they’re “LDS” members while swigging a whiskey. (LDS is what Mormons call themselves).

I wonder what the latin for “I agree wholeheartedly” is…

Are you working on a catchy sign-off phrase like Jimmy Durante’s “Good night Mrs. Calabash, where ever you are”?

Duraflame fire starter logs use the same theme song as you do. Larry I was watching ellen this afternoon (11/23/2010) and a commercial for the duraflame fire starter log came on & your theme song is the same one they use in the duraflame commercial.
