Dawg Bites Drunk Mann

Why is the metric system tearing our society apart? When did ‘pudding’ become ‘mousse’? And what’s a guy gotta do to get a half gallon of whiskey? All these questions and more are answered in this episode of This Week With Larry Miller.

Larry also reads some letters from far-flung listeners, and works on organizing the worldwide chapters of the Larry Miller Drinking Society.

He also talks about the family dog and recalls stories from his school days — most of which involve petty vandalism, drinking on rooftops and dropping heavy objects off rooftops.

All – I Forgot the link, late night last night. It’s up now. Everyone can relax now.

Also if you DO have iTunes you can get it automatically by subscribing with a couple of clicks (see LARGE white button to the top right), which also helps Larry’s standing on iTunes.

And yes, Larry is worth it!

Sorry for the mix up last night, and as always enjoy the show.

I am a younger guy, who has learned to love Larry Miller and his comedy through ACE, so i checked imdb to watch some movies he starred in and there 103 titles. What movies does everyone think would be the best ones to start with?

the first time i remember seeing larry was on the seinfeld episode when he was the doorman. that was phenomenal. and of course pretty woman, he’s really funny. and how can you leave out the mockumentaries like waiting for guffman?

you said you are young–have you seen the movie 10 things i hate about you? i don’t live in america anymore (i’m the one larry mentioned in this podcast living in beijing) so i did get to see the new tv version, but in the movie, he’s good in that too.

Ten Things I Hate About You is a fun movie that features Larry a lot. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is GREAT although I don’t remember exactly how much he is featured. Any of the Christopher Guest movies he’s in are hilarious — Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind or Best In Show. His brief performance in Pretty Woman is a standout and is the role that put him on the map. If you can find a clip of him as the vindictive doorman on Seinfeld, that’s a classic.

Check out his small, but awesome role in “Best in Show”. Whole movie is great as is Larry.

This week’s episode was not as good as previous entries, but you can’t hit home runs every time. Overall, I absolutely love this podcast. It’s probably my favorite podcast on the Ace Network. Please don’t change a thing. (No cohosts, continue to keep it clean, and stay at 30 minutes.)

The “Dawg” owned by “Mann” story was pretty good.

The reason pudding’s being replaced by mousse? Mousse is pudding with bubbles. Marketing has gotten to a point where they can make something sound fancier (“Oooh, I’ll have the chocolate mouse please”) and also charge you for the air they’re feeding you. Well done, world.

I wish to throw your metric system argument back at you, Mr. Miller! A carton of milk in Canada used to be 2 litres, but over the last decade, it’s changed to 1.89L (A HALF-GALLON) for the same price. If you get a 2L of whiskey instead of a half-gallon, at least you get more.

Love the city/country name bit. Germany (English) = Allemagne (French) = Deutschland (German) = Niemcy (Polish) = Saksa (Finnish). I’m sure there are more, but this is ridiculous.

Never written so much in a comment before. Keep it up, Larry!

I’ve always enjoyed Larry as a guest on Adam’s show, but I was a little skeptical about Larry doing his own show. My skepticism was misplaced. Larry does a great job on his podcast. He could use a sidekick, ideally Teresa Strasser.

The stories you tell are so full of wit and hilarity that my Wednesdays at work go smoother listening to your podcast. I had the chance to see you at Torrance Cultural Arts Center. You were brilliant.

I’ll toast one to you here in the South Bay.

I can’t believe there’s one of those tacky oil-running-down-the-string things hanging in the background. Then I see one of those god awful mexican hats and realize it fits. So he (Adam) has one of those ugly hats and stands around with his hands on his hips all the time-what is he, my dad?
Oh yeah, and Larry is a delight. Glad to see he’s getting some work.

Undercover Blues – staring Dennis Quad, Kathleen Turner and Stanley Tucci
I caught this movie just the other weekend and kept watching just because of Mr. Larry Miller. He really stretched for this role including an accent. Bonus Stanley Tucci is simply awesome my dad and I will forever call him Muerte because of this ‘picture.’

    dear mr. miller –

i’ve always been a big fan… well, from the guest movies and on for sure.

this show rivals the dave’s of thunder. more specifically david feeney, who is by the far the most talented comedic writer on the network. no offense to anyone else. someone has to lead the pack.

thoughts: i dig the format. a guest occasionally might not be a bad idea… interviews and such, but a cohost? forget it! i tune in to your show to hear you… it’s larry miller time. please stick with the solo hosting.

diggin’ the show. keep up the good work.

health and happiness to you and your family – moses

“Well of course going to class was not an option.” Very funny. Would have been nice if there had been some information on how the snack machine company got justice from the idiots in the frat, though.
